eBay Top-rated sellers and international selling
eBay Top-rated seller (eTRS) status, badge* and benefits are regional, and appear on each site once you’ve qualified on that site.
Here are some tips and information if you’re currently an eBay Top-rated seller in one market and want to become one in your new international markets.
*Note: The badge name for eBay Top-rated seller may differ across countries.
In which countries can I qualify for eTRS status?
eBay Top-rated seller status is currently available in UK, Ireland, US, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Australia and Canada*.
If I’m eBay Top-rated in France, am I also eBay Top-rated in Italy, Australia and Canada?
Yes, status in each of these countries is determined by your global seller performance standards and based on your transactions with buyers everywhere.
If I’m eBay Top-rated in France, am I also eBay Top-rated in the US, UK or Germany?
No, your eBay Top-rated seller status in US, UK and Germany is determined by your transactions with buyers based in those regions.
| Top-rated seller status in: | Based on transactions with buyers in: |
| UK and Ireland | UK and Ireland |
| Germany, Austria and Switzerland | Germany, Austria and Switzerland |
| US | US |
| France, Italy, Australia and Canada | all countries |
Does my status carry over to new countries?
It’s possible for you to be an eBay Top-rated seller in one market but not meet minimum standards for other markets. For example, you could be eBay Top-rated in the UK but below required standards in Germany.
If you qualify for eBay Top-rated seller status based on your global seller performance standards, you will be an eBay Top-rated seller in all countries where the scheme has launched.
How do I check my status in each country?
Check your eBay Top-rated seller status for each country by visiting your seller dashboard.
- Click on the performance standards link to get to the seller performance page.
- On the seller performance page, you can check your seller performance for each country by clicking on the flags.

Could my global seller performance standards affect my standing as a seller in the UK or Ireland?
No, although UK and IE sellers who fall below the minimum global seller performance standards may see reduced exposure for their items or may be blocked from listing on sites outside of the UK and Ireland.
Could my performance in my domestic performance rating ever impact my standing in other markets?
Yes, if a UK seller’s performance falls below minimum required standards in the UK programme and receives a selling limit or suspension, this limit and suspension will be applied across all eBay sites.
If I earn eBay Top-rated seller status in an overseas market will I get final value fee discounts in this market?
You can only earn the UK final value fee discount if your registered address is in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. A UK seller won’t receive discounts on final value fees for listings that they actively list on eBay.de, even if they have eBay Top-rated seller status in Germany.
When you start selling in any market outside of the US, UK and Germany, your standing will be based on your global seller performance standards. This is calculated using transactions with buyers based everywhere (including the UK, US and Germany).
When you start selling in the US, UK or Germany, your standing will continue to be based on your performance with buyers in those countries and their associated sites*. For example, your status in the UK is based on your performance with buyers in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Limits and suspensions that occur as a result of poor performance are applied globally.
* eBay.at and eBay.ch are associated sites to eBay.de; eBay.ie is an associated site to eBay.co.uk.
If you’re selling on an eBay site that offers buyer protection, buyers on that site will be protected according to the policy applicable on that site. Familiarise yourself with the site policy and ensure that you react to any cases that are opened according to its requirements. If a case is not resolved, eBay may pay the buyer part or all of the item price and may seek reimbursement from the seller. Recoupment policies may vary per site. Make sure you understand the policies of the site you sell on. Agreeing with the eBay Buyer Protection policy of a site is a requirement to sell on that site.
Also, please remember that if a buyer purchasing from another eBay site opens an eBay Buyer Protection case, then the case will be administrated in their eBay site's language. For example, if a German buyer purchases an item from a UK seller on the German site and an eBay Buyer Protection case is opened, the case will be handled in German. In such circumstances, you will need to be comfortable that you can deal with cases in your buyer’s language.
